Digital customer catch-eyes and advertising displays are increasingly replacing traditional posters and enable flexible communication of promotions, menus, special offers or events – right at the point of sale.
But which display is best suited to which location? The key criteria are location, brightness, protection rating and power supply.
1. Indoor, semi-outdoor or outdoor?
Indoors
Indoor displays are suitable for use indoors in environments with controlled lighting conditions.
Typical applications: Retail space Restaurants Reception areas Hotel lobbies Shopping centres
Ideal for: Passages Walking routes Shopping centres Areas with visitors coming from both directions
Advantages: Visibility from both sides Greater attention Greater range Recommended solution: mybow MOVE-DUAL
6. What does pixel pitch (P2.5, P3, P4) mean?
With LED screens, image sharpness is determined by what is known as the pixel pitch. This value describes the distance between two LED pixels and is given in millimetres. The closer viewers are to the screen, the smaller the pixel pitch should be. For most digital signage applications in retail, restaurants, petrol stations or shopping centres, P2.5 to P3 offer excellent image quality.
P2.5
Very high resolution A very sharp image Ideal for short viewing distances Premium retail, shop windows and interior spaces
P3
Excellent value for money Suitable for most digital signage applications Indoor and outdoor areas
P4 and above
For viewing from a greater distance Common with large advertising spaces or façades Less sharp at close range
7. LCD or LED – what’s the difference?
We’d be happy to offer you some advice, with no obligation, or show you the equipment during a quick on-site demonstration.
